Yes, it snowed here in Birmingham on Friday.. I have been sewing and staying near home. Made pumpkin bread and Italian pounded chicken cutlets. Ravoli and oven baked fish.. Dogs do not like the snow.. except Little girl went in the snow and had little snow balls hanging from her belly and legs.
Spring has to be around the corner. Do I plant some veggies or just plant some flowers. In this cold weather I don't want to think about this..

This will be rambling.. Why do I quilt? I quilt to calm my nerves. I quilt to create something I see in my mind's eye. I quilt to wrap friends, and baby and special people in quilts since I can wrap them in love any other way.. I quilt to drift away into another or to bring a little bit of mystery spirit to visual pleasure. I will continue to quilt. It calms my nerves and gives me a small purpose in this crazy world. That sometime does not make alot of sense.

October has crept in among the rain and cooler temps. DH and I had the chance to visit two Alabama state parks. They were great days out doors .. I enjoy Tannehill the best and plan to take my grand kids there.. Lots of safe places to walk around and things to see..

I wanted to up load pictures of the new door to the deck.. But blogger won't let me do that right now.. It is 54 or so this morning.. Dogs went out and in as fast as they could .. Really Florida dogs yet.. off to make some dark out shades for some windows so my grand kids can sleep in the dark while they are here. I'm such a thoughtful grandma..

I guess life is about letting go.. I am a collecter of stuff. Maybe not as bad as some and not as clutter free as others.. I have been pitching stuff for 4 years now. Saying stuff like.. "If I die tomorrow, what a mess to clean up." My son's reply is we will get a dumpster and pitch for you.. Wish they could give me a moment now and then to move some furniture out of here.. IT's all too much at this point.
Felt like I didn't get much done this week.. But did pitch the old broken gas grill. My DH doesn't even know it's gone.. What a hoot that will be. It's been sitting on our porch rusting for a year.. The inside had so much grease in it that the defector plate rusted way under the weigh of the grease. Now I ask you.. Would you eat anything grilled on that mess. I think not.. I also found a colony of black widow spiders living happily in the corner of the porch.. So I'm approaching that corner carefully.. I will go to Ace Hardware and see what kind of bug spray they have that may help..

As for quilting I first felt I didn't do much .. But, I did make 15 bowtie blocks for my Thursday night quilting club and 12 finished quilted blocks for a donation quilt for a 42 year old woman in a local nursing home.. Who's husband happens to also be divorcing her.. And this week her 15 year old daughter ran away from home.. There sure is a lady who needs some help... Some of the gals have started visiting her and one even took her out for lunch.. God is good in his way.. Making us all grow in giving to her.. So maybe I did do something this week..

I've decide I have a sinus infection and started taking some left over antibiotics til I can get in to see Doctor or nurse practicianer on Monday.. Had headaches, pain under my right eye, hot and cold and no energy..

Sophie has been dx with heart failure.. Doing laxis and bp pill. Mild improvement.. had to know what to do for her. Just try to keep her pain free as possible at this point...
Guess, I go was some floors and get my husband out of the great room so I can wash that floor too.. Then collapse for the rest of the day..

this is my feable attempt at growing flowers in a drought.. I've been using condensed water from the A/C to keep the little things going.. Crazy I am for sure.
But, too much sulfur and salt in our well water and it's and old well. So I do not want to stress it out too much. Everyone around me is pumping and pumping to maintain their green lawns..
Back to making scrap crazy quilt blocks.. Need to get back to quilting those donation quilts, but my left shoulder is sore.. So I will wait..
Oops I almost only saved this as a draft.. Too funny.. Well, off to do some cleaning and lunch with a friend..

okay, these are desperate times for photos. I need to get out and take some new stuff. Especially need new pics of the dogs.. Sophie has dislocated her left knee cap and torn her acl.. She's on pain meds, special food for older dogs and less walking.. She also has an enlarged heart and calcifations in her lungs.. But she keeps going .. What an example to all of us of courage and strength.. Chloe's also done similar thing to both of her knees. She has slowed down..NOT.. Crazy little girl. And French Fry just keeps doing the same..being a good old boy...

Quilt club was pretty good.. At Carol's house.. Made a block from Fons and Porter for another donation quilt.. And I forgot my camera and missed pics of Nina's donation blocks of hearts quilt.. It was wonderful.. My fibromyalgia was really acting up yesterday and glad all the gals in club put up with grummpy me yesterday.

Finn, how great to be getting a studio to work in.. It is always such inspiration.. Ebby will have so much fun poking in all the quilting stuff.

Guess, I should go walk the dogs and do some meaningful work to warrant my existence to my husband .. Hope you all are laughing... He doesn't get it .. I life to quilt not to clean..

Okay I'm trying to upload some pictures of quilts I've been working on this year.. Nothing truly completed. The big maple leave thing is the round robin from quilt club. It is really bright.. I have another collage of all 6 quilts together at the our out of order meeting..

This is a sorrowful day with the day after the events at VT... Who would have thought this possible.. How sad.. So scarey and sad..

Windy here in Central Florida..I will quilt most of today...

Where has this year gone... I have not one finished quilting project done. But I have 5 donation quilts in varying stages of completion. One crazy quilt thing that has grown to 48 X 66 and needs bornder and backing.. One queen sunshine and shadown half started to completion.. and a really scappy 4 patch turning to a 16 patch or just lots of different colors sewn together.. I bounce between these. And not to mention I have two Easter table runners that I want to get done prior to Easter to give as gifts for Easter. Hopeful on those two.. I can finish machine quilting and binding those in the next two days.. Right..

I did a big oops when my brother in law and family was visiting.. Didn't know that his kids and probably his wife did know that he had two x's in his past. Oops.. Didn't know it was his big dark secret. I figure it's public record if you really care to look.. Not like I did it on purpose. Just telling the one the kid who is 15 going on 16 the story of ...how did you and uncle meet and get married. Who is and how come kind of stuff that kids always ask ... I would hate to have to live with "dark secrets" and have to tell false tales to make me seem to be a better person. Lies always have a way of catching up with you.. Truth seems so much more simple to deal with.. I guess, He'll either get over it or not. My life will go on and his should if he is truthful for once.

The animals are all doing okay.. Oni is on prednisone for itching from encounter with some fleas.. I'm going to dust the yard with sevin and see if that helps out some. I wish it would rain down here in florida.. Bone dry.. I'm trying to keep some plants my daughter gave me a week or so ago alive with water from my A/C condensor.. My well water has salt and sulfur in it. Yuck..There is purple basil, regular basil, marigolds, zinnas and 6 tomato plants.. Little patio tomatoes that hopeful will survive on my porch in the worst heat of the summer..

I have to get the camera out and post some new pictures of quilts in progress..
