I have no idea what pics I'm posting today.. Totally random.
I have become too mouthy of late. I post comments on everyone's site.. I get on my little soap box.. What is happening to me.. Sorry to all of you.. if I'm annoying.. Just a phase.. I'm slowly forgetting how to spell and write.. so I need the practise.
I'm off to do some machine quilting and look for matterial to shredd for Finn's rag rug.. It would do great in my log cabin and I'm sure there is a dog or cat around her who would love it..
I hate Fibromyalgia .. or what ever this crazy thing is that I have.. This random pain pattern is a pain.. And I'm not going to take all their experimental drug combos. Sometimes I just want to go somewhere by myself and be left alone with this crappy pain thing... Yuck.. Okay.. It's been a bad week and I'm venting.. Tomorrow will be different I hope.. pray and beseach the maker.....

Hi Sharon, Saw your comment about starting a rug...*VBS* It is a great therapy, and not hard to do. I just got Rabbit Stitching and Angie at Thread Catcher started last week.

I see you don't have an email listed, so I'm going to give you the archive pages dates here.
And MY email addy so you can email me, and then I can coach you along..*VBS*
I saw Darcie's rug on June 13th..and loved it. She's at http://quiltingbydarcie,blogspot.com/ She had more directions as the month goes on(scroll upward for those)
My first showing of my rug was on Aug. 5, 2006 in my Aug. archives. It's a long post and the rug is the last picture...don't give up!
The second pic is on August 28th..a progress report. And it was finished and shown on Sept 2nd. That's the first rug. I'm working on a second one(shown yesterday).

Start by cutting or tearing your fabric into strips that are between 3/4" and 1.5". I used up odds and ends of left over binding strips first...they were already cut at 1.5". I like to tear the fabric because I can do it in my recliner at night. I make a snip through the selvadge and then tear. The first one won't be great, but it straightens the edge so the rest are straight.

If you cut you won't have any strings to speak of, but I have to stand to cut, so I don't.

The strips need to be joined up, you can do that by Darcie's slip and pull method or by stitching. I usually hand sew mine(recliner work *S*) and then roll them into a ball. You need ALOT!! It really sucks them up.
Start with a I, J, or K hook. K is bigger, and what I use unless the strips are narrower, the I use an I or J.
You chain(loosely) 6 or 7 stitches and join the last one to the first with a slip stitch. Then you put a single crochet in that same hole. The next hole gets a sc and the the next gets sc+sc in the same hole. You are increasing every other stitch all the way around. If it is beginning to curl too badly, put 2 sc in several in a row. The next row is the same as the one you just finished. It's up to you how often you increase. The goal is to keep it from turning into a bowl. You can judge that pretty well at any point by seeing if it will lay flat. The trick is to keep increasing enough it doesnt curl, but NOT SO MUCH that it "ripples". Once you master it, it's a piece of cake, but it may give you a run for your money unless you are fairly patience.
When my rag ball is gone I just join another one to the tail end and keep on going.
So give it a try. Here's my email addy Finn922000@yahoo.com

Let me know how it goes, and if you have any questions. so the Fibermayalgia is giving you such fits. Hugs, Finn

Cute! A little Ranen and a little Adah. I love my kids! :)

Hey, don't beat yourself up so much about being mouthy. You got that?! in my best Yankee tone of voice :)

I agree with Sandra - don't beat yourself up. I love it when you post a comment on my blog.
Take care and I'll be praying for your pain.
